when you buy a new game can you use your current character? or do you have to make one for that game? like if i bought eye of the north could i use my character from factions? yes or no?

if you buy eye of the north you will NEED to have purchased one of the chapters (prophecies, factions or nightfall) to even get it to work as eye is only an expansion.
Once you have created a character in one of the aforementioned chapters you can bring it to any of the others ---a prophecies character can go to factions and nightfall as well as eye---as long as you have purchased the chapter AND have the keys all on the same account. Many people make characters from different chapters and bring them thru the stories of the others.

You can use your current character in any of the campaigns. In the case of Eye of the North, you must use a current character, since it requires being level 20 to access the new areas.
